It is a tradition that started in the 19th century among the Luhya community, a cultural rite of passage where boys become men in a spectacular early morning event. Tonight on MY CULTURE our focus in on the traditional circumcision of the Bukusu, a Luhya sub-tribe. Our reporter Timothy Kipnusu visited the villages of Masaba and Kaptenai in Sirisia constituency to witness this year’s edition of khuminya and filed the following report.
