'My dad has been in jail for 23 years. His crime? Being a journalist' - BBC Africa
Betlehem was only eight when she last saw her father, Dawit Isaak, a founder of Eritrea’s first independent newspaper. But Eritrea is one of the world's worst places to be a journalist. It has no independent media, hasn't held elections since its independence and many journalists are behind bars. Isaak is one of them - after 23 years in jail he's the world's longest detained journalist. But he's now been granted a presitigious award. Betlehem tells about the prize and shares memories of her father and their country.
