Nairobi County workers’ union support appointment of Martin Nang’ole as managing director

The County Government Workers Union (COGWU) has thrown its weight behind the appointment of Martin Nang’ole as the new Managing Director of the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company, dismissing claims by the Water Service Workers Union (WASWU) that the process was irregular. The Union Secretary said Nang’ole’s appointment as MD was procedure and was based on merit, adding that he has been acting capacity for the last six months. He added that his appointment is a big motivation for staff, since he started from the bottom and worked his way up.
