Naivasha Member of Parliament Jane Kihara has been arrested by directorate of criminal investigations officers after she declined to honor summons for alleged incitement and undermining the authority of a public officer. Kihara was whisked from her home in Maraigushu to Naivasha police station where she denied allegations of being behind the chaos in Naivasha that saw several traders lose their property to hired goons. In her defense, the lawmaker termed the summons against her as unconstitutional, accusing the state of intimidation.
