Residents of Ng’ombeni in Junda Ward, Mombasa, are calling for urgent intervention as heavy rains continue to cause severe flooding, leaving roads impassable, homes submerged, and families displaced. The downpour, which began on Sunday, has cut off parts of the area, with residents blaming years of neglect and poor drainage systems.
Locals now fear a rise in water-borne diseases and are urging authorities to act swiftly by improving drainage and repairing roads. Many have been forced from their homes, while livelihoods are disrupted as the flooding persists.
