Opposition leaders reject Smartmatic, call on IEBC to suspend engagement

Opposition leaders have told the IECB to suspend any further engagements with technology firm Smartmatic and that they will not accept the firm to take part in the 2027 general election. The leaders who held a lengthy meeting with the IEBC chairperson Erustus Ethekon and the other commissioners also presented a wide range of concerns, including insecurity issues witnessed in the concluded by-elections.
