The Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya has called for a review of penalties for pharmacists engaging in the over the counter sale of prescription drugs. The recommendation follows Citizen TV's expose on the 'drink spiking' menace in the country. The Society which has decried the rise of unlicensed facilities and the lowering of standards in the dispensing of medications wants a collaborative approach in dealing with the issue. The pharmacists have appealed to the general public to avoid purchasing drugs without prescription.
