Police IG and DCI director summoned over Mwenda Mbijiwe disappearance

The high court has ordered Inspector General of police Douglas Kanja and DCI Director Mohamed Amin to appear in court on December 16th to explain the whereabouts of security analyst Mwenda Mbijiwe, who went missing in 2021. In an emotional court session, Mbijwe's mother, Jane Gatwiri, narrated to the court how her son lived in fear after receiving threats from powerful people. Gatwiri says she believes her son is alive and is being held incommunicado by the state.
