Political parties will have to wait longer to receive their allocation from the Political Parties Fund due to the ongoing financial crisis facing the country. According to the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP), only funds for the first quarter have been disbursed, with the National Treasury delaying the release of additional allocations. The delay has sparked protests from several parties, including the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), which warned that the setback could hurt preparations for upcoming by-elections.
