As succession politics rage on in the Mount Kenya region, President William Ruto has called on young leaders to avoid engaging in divisive politics and fulfill their campaign promises. This came as deputy president Rigathi Gachagua urged Mount Kenya leaders to focus on service delivery and stop fuelling the debate around Ruto's successor. Gachagua spoke during a meeting with members of the Nyandarua county assembly at his residence in Karen, Nairobi, where the MCAs threw their weight behind Gachagua as the Mount Kenya kingpin and president William Ruto's successor, accusing those supporting Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro of hatching a plot to divide the region.
