Protests over Ojwang' Murder

Protesters poured into the streets of Nairobi and Mombasa today, united by one demand, justice for blogger and teacher Albert Omondi Ojwang, who died in police custody under suspicious circumstances. Protesters are now demanding the arrest of Deputy Inspector General Eliud Lagat, whose name has been linked to the death. The protests—marked by tension and resilience are part of a buildup to a much larger demonstration planned for the June 25th anniversary of last year’s Gen Z uprising.
