Protests over police shootings in Kirinyaga

Residents of Mukithi In Kirinyaga County took to the streets saturday evening along the Kagio–Kutus road to demand justice for Jackline Nyawira, a 21-year-old girl who was fatally shot by police during the recent saba saba protests in Githurai. The demonstrators, visibly angered, condemned what they described as ongoing harassment of nyawira’s family by police officers. They also expressed frustration over the lack of accountability, noting that authorities have yet to release an official report on the shooting. Nyawira’s death sparked outrage across the region, with residents calling for swift investigations and action against those responsible.
