The initiative, undertaken by the Office of the First Lady in partnership with Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asma of Morocco, seeks to support children with hearing impairments by providing access to life-changing technology that restores hearing and enhances communication and learning.
Valued at over KSh 120 million, the cochlear implants will be distributed through the Ministry of Health and operations done at Kenyatta National Hospital and the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital. The devices will enable children who are deaf or hard of hearing to experience sound—some for the very first time.
