Preparations are complete for Saturday’s 21 km Rangers Half Marathon to be hosted at the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Meru County. The marathon will be the climax of a three-day rangers summit that is being held in Kenya for the first time. 350 rangers from across Africa are in Lewa, representing 25 countries. This is the third summit for the rangers, the first one in 2018 in South Africa, and the second one in 2022 in Botswana. The focus this year is on building friendships, professional relationships, sharing experiences and challenges, and also getting ideas on how to deal with mental health, which is a big concern for them.
