Alamitu Guyo Jattani the spouse of Marsabit governor Ali Mohammud claims she was not arrested on April 2024 when EACC Sleuths conducted a joint sting operation at the residence of the Governor and Former Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yattani over alleged embezzlement of 8.2 billion shillings from the county. Appearing before the IEBC Selection panel Jattani confirmed the operation stating that there is no case against her despite three petitions forwarded to the panel to challenge her suitability. Ahmed Sheikh Takoy from Mandera County was the first to appear before the panel Friday morning. Ahmed who is a CEO of a bank in South Sudan assured the panel that if appointed he will ensure that the country’s election which has been touted to be expensive is conducted in a manner that there is value for money.
