A section of religious leaders from Naivasha has accused the government of abandoning victims of the Mai Mahiu flash floods tragedy that swept the Kamuchiri village, claiming the lives of at least 50 people. The clergy, led by Reverend Joseph Gitau, said 12 months after the tragic turn of events, dozens of the affected families continue to languish in poverty as promises to resettle and compensate the victims remain unfulfilled.
