Residents of Getarwet in Kusumek, Kericho County, have decried rising insecurity in the area and are calling for urgent government interventions to quell what they view as a rising problem.
They say, more than ten people have been attacked and robbed by armed suspected criminals with crude weapons in the past three months in the area, which is in Bureti constituency.
In response to the rising cases, the Kusumek location chief, Hillary Langat, convened a security meeting attended by more than two hundred residents to discuss possible solutions to the problem. The residents are calling on the government and security agencies to carry out thorough investigations and arrest the suspects behind the attacks.
