The residents of Uriri sub-location in Gem Wagai Siaya County are up in arms against Kenya Power company whom they accuse of doing nothing to save them from prolonged darkness that has hit the area for more than four months. Speaking to the media during a peaceful demonstration to press the company to hear their plight, the residents led by Shadrack Paul and Walter Fwanga , lamented that the village was thrown into darkness when the company officials took the transformer away for maintenance, never to return it.
