The escalating insecurity in Kerio Valley has sparked serious concern, especially among professionals working in the region. The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) and the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) are now calling on their members—doctors and teachers—to suspend services immediately until safety can be guaranteed.
The unions are urging the government to act swiftly and implement robust security measures to safeguard both residents and public servants who continue to face threats to their lives and livelihoods in the region.
