The Kenya under-20 women’s team, the rising starlets, departed for Ethiopia ahead of their FIFA under-20 World Cup qualifier against the hosts on Sunday in Addis Ababa. The squad of 23 players has eight of the stars from the under-17 World Cup team of 2024, such as Ephy Awuor, Elizabeth Ochaka, Lorna Ilavonga, Rebecca Odato, Halima Imbachi, Pearl Olesi, Lorna Faith, and Valerie Nekesa. The team will then host Ethiopia in Nairobi next week on Sunday. The under-17 coach, Mildred Cheche, is also part of the technical bench together with Mofa coach, Carles Bruno.
