Ruto accuses MPs of demanding bribes

    President William Ruto has assented to the county allocation of revenue bill that allocates 415 billion shillings as the equitable share for devolved units. The new revenue share is a 30-billion-shilling increase from the previous allocation of 387 billion shillings. The president at the Homa Bay State Lodge also assented to the county public finance management bill of 2023, which amends the existing act, to provide for the establishment of a county assembly fund in each county. Present during the signing were Senate Speaker Amason Kingi, Senate Clerk Jeremiah Nyegenye, Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, and representatives from the county assemblies.
