The motorsport fraternity in Kenya is celebrating after the FIA included the Safari Rally in the 2027 World Rally Championship calendar.
The expanded 2027 season will feature 15 rounds, headlined by the return of Rally USA and Rally Scotland, alongside the introduction of Rally d’Italia.

Approved by the FIA World Motor Sport Council, the 2027 calendar brings together some of the WRC’s most established events, alongside new destinations.
Rally USA is scheduled for August 26 to 29, marking the championship’s first visit to the United States since 1988.
The Safari Rally, scheduled for March 18 to 21, 2027, will be the third round of the championship after Rally Monte Carlo and Rally Sweden.
There had been concerns that the Safari Rally could be omitted from the championship due to financial constraints. It is understood that the event is guaranteed a slot in the WRC for at least another three seasons.
