A section of business owners in Nairobi City have supported the decision by the Nairobi County Governor Johnson Sakaja that disallows street vendors in Nairobi to conduct business in the central business district before 4pm.The business owners say the hawkers have an unfair advantage since their structure of business does not attract as much in taxes. In rejoinder however Nairobi hawkers say that the Governor's decision is affecting their livelihood and unless the County government designates a place for them to do business, they will not comply with the Governor's directive.
