Senate grills Kitui governor Malombe over revenue collection from sand harvesters

The Senate Public Accounts Committee, chaired by Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang, on Tuesday questioned Kitui Governor Julius Malombe to explain the Auditor General's queries regarding revenue and cess collection for sand harvesters. The Kitui County government claimed it only receives an average of 20 lorries per day, a number that was refuted by the committee.
