Over 65 families have been displaced after heavy rains triggered floods in parts of Mwea West Sub-County and Ndia constituency in Kirinyaga County.
In Kianjanga village, Mukure ward, 15 homes have been submerged and over 65 displaced, according to the Red Cross coordinator Martin Kagunda. Residents have been left stranded and villages cut off after floodwaters swept through the area.
Affected families are now appealing for urgent intervention as authorities warn the situation could worsen if the rains continue.
