SIAYA AGRICULTURE EARNS KSH 9.2 BILLION ANNUALLY AS COUNTY PUSHES FOR AGRI INDUSTRIAL TRANSFORMATION

Siaya County’s agriculture sector contributes over KSh 9.2 billion annually to the local economy, Governor James Orengo has revealed during the NAVCDP Day celebrations in Siaya. The governor said agriculture accounts for 60% of the county’s economy and pledged continued investment in irrigation, value addition, farmer organizations and youth-driven agribusiness to transform the sector from subsistence farming to a modern commercial economy.
