Solar Mamas: meet the grannies lighting up rural villages - BBC Africa
On the island country of Madagascar off the south-eastern coast of Africa a group of grandmothers is bringing light to their villages. Grandmothers are highly respected in the community and are thought to be reliable. That’s why a charity called Barefoot College in association with the WWF is training them up to be solar engineers.
