As the inquiry into exam cheating continues, it has emerged that some schools pay large amounts of money to receive KCSE papers beforehand. Hearings before the parliamentary committee on education have implicated both public and private schools in the commercialization of national exams. Teachers are now calling for the establishment of an independent body to supervise and oversee the Kenya National Examinations Council to restore public trust in the institution.
