BBC Africa Eye has obtained previously unseen police documents and exclusive testimony that shed new light on the murder of one of South Africa's top detectives. Frans Mathipa was killed while investigating the disappearance of Abdalla Abadigga, an alleged Islamic State militant and intelligence asset. Seven members of the special forces and one other are due to stand trial in connection with Mathipa’s murder. Of those, seven are accused, alongside four others, of abducting and murdering Abadigga.
