State House set to spend 17bn shillings, double initial allocation amid rising costs

State house will spend 17b shillings by the end of the current financial year, double the ksh8.5b allocated at the beginning of the financial year. Amidst concern about state house' increasing appetite for public funds, officials claim the amount allocated was too small. State house has requested for sh20b for the next financial year starting july 1st, saying 4 new state lodges have contributed to the rise in expenditure.
