The project by Young African Women Initiatives (YAWI) targets students from informal settlements in Nakuru County. According to YAWI Programs Officer, Karen Wairimu, the move is in response to challenges identified in teaching the subjects in most schools. Some of the challenges include lack of interest in the subjects among girls leading to poor performance.
