Tension in Siaya as Student Murder Sparks Planned Protests

Tension gripped Siaya town on Friday after police cancelled a planned protest by students and residents following the brutal murder of a 21-year-old Siaya National Polytechnic student. The victim, a Building and Civil Engineering student, was killed while manning an electronics shop near Siaya KMTC. Assailants reportedly tied him up, assaulted him, and fled with goods of unknown value, leaving him for dead.
