    When he ascended the presidency in 2022, President William Ruto pledged to transform the country through a digital superhighway which he said will make Kenya a regional tech hub. The next few months, the former Information Communication and Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo traversed the country, launching free public Wi-Fi in markets. Three years down the line, traders in most of the markets are crying foul after the Wi-Fi went off.
