Dr. Esther Muoria is urging training institutions to embrace technology-driven approaches in agriculture to equip learners with modern, market-ready skills. Speaking at Kisii National Polytechnic in Kisii, she highlighted growing job opportunities for skilled youth both locally and internationally.
The TVET Principal Secretary emphasised the need to shift from traditional farming to mechanised and digital agriculture, noting that innovation will boost productivity and reduce labour demands. She also pointed to the Skills Initiative for Africa (SIFA), supported by New Partnership for Africa’s Development and the German government, as a key programme equipping young people with modern agricultural skills.
