Two bodies of persons who were trapped in a gold mine in Ogago, Bondo Sub County, have been retrieved, as efforts to recover a third victim continue.
The recovery operation has now entered its second day, with families of the deceased appealing for assistance to retrieve their loved ones and to accord them a dignified burial.
Their pleas come as artisanal miners from West Pokot, where another mining incident recently left more than ten people dead, urge the government to introduce policies that will guarantee their safety as they continue with the only viable economic activity in the area.
