Uganda bids farewell to ‘boy king’

Uganda’s Tooro Kingdom bid its farewell to King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba today closing a reign of nearly 31 years. Crowned at just three years old, he was once recognised as the world’s youngest reigning monarch. He died aged 34 while receiving treatment in the United States. Thousands of mourners lined the streets of Fort Portal for the procession. In a tribute at the burial, his sister, Princess Ruth Nsemere Komuntale, remembered a king who never lost his boyish spirit, recalling his love of movies, fitness, and simply having fun.
