Ukraine is an alternative for “equal cooperation” with Africa - BBC Africa

Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha, has told the BBC that his country is an alternative for “equal cooperation” with Africa, over what he called Russia’s “destabilising” influence.  The Ukrainian government also claims that there are now close to 3,000 African fighters who’ve been misled or coerced into the Russia army by illegal recruitment agencies. It says one in eight prisoners of war in Ukraine is from Africa. Russia insists that any foreign conscripts in its army are there voluntarily, as permitted under Russian law. Mr Sybiha was speaking to the BBC’s Sammy Awami in an exclusive interview in Kyiv.
