The united opposition has sustained claims of a government plan to rig the next general election in 2027 through the integrated population registration system. The leaders who toured Tharaka Nithi and Meru counties want an audit of the system before the polls and have called on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to stop integration of the biometric voter registration with the integrated population registration system. The team led by DCP Party leader Rigathi Gachagua and Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka also hit out at Deputy President Kithure Kindiki for allegedly being used to divide the Mount Kenya community.
