Using 'digital teachers' to help children learn to read - BBC Africa
In a country where 90% of 10-yr olds cannot read a simple sentence, a rural school in Malawi is turning to technology to improve the literacy level of its pupils. For 30 minutes per day, kids learn reading and maths on a tablet, in their own language and at their own pace. The tablets are also used to assess their level - with the help of an avatar virtual teacher.
