'We preferred to stay at home during our period'- BBC Africa

For millions of girls across Africa, a natural process like having their period could mean staying out of the classroom, simply because they cannot afford sanitary products. Now, in Nigeria’s Plateau State, a young researcher is developing biodegradable sanitary pads that is offering women and girls a more affordable alternative, while also tackling the environmental waste caused by conventional pads.
