Women in Garissa demand freedom to choose leaders without influence from men

Women from Garissa County have called on their male counterparts to allow them choose their leaders of choice in the coming general elections. Through their patron Khatra Salat, the women said for too much long they have not been exercising their democratic rights because they used to take instructions from either their husbands or clan elders on who to elect. They vowed to rally behind the preferred candidate of the choice without interference from any quarters.
