Residents of Magarini and Lagdera constituency will have to go back to the ballot after the High court nullified the election of Magarini MP Harrison Kombe and his Lagdera counterpart Abdikadir Hussein. The court separately found that the election of both legislators was marred with irregularities. In the ruling, the court also ordered the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to conduct fresh elections. The Lagdera MP has however received a temporary reprieve after the High court in Meru stayed the order to conduct a fresh election which allows him to continue serving as MP until the electoral body is fully constituted.
