Tea farmers are urging the government, through the Ministry of Agriculture, to promote value addition for Kenyan tea to attract better markets and increase farmers’ earnings. They expressed disappointment over unstable tea bonus payments in recent years, with this year’s bonus dropping to around 32 shillings per kilogram in many factories across Murang’a County.
