Transmara residents have been urged to stop the ongoing fighting and surrender all illegal firearms to the government before the first day of the new year.
Speaking during the burial ceremony of Johana Mibei, a driver who was shot dead by bandits in the Angata Barrikoi, Narok Deputy Governor, Kiprono Koech Tamalinye called on communities living along the border to embrace peace. In a bid to find lasting solution to the fighting, Narok County government has launched a 120-member committee drawn from the warring communities.
