CS Duale rejects Mudavadi’s push for pre-2027 referendum

Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has rejected calls by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi to hold a referendum on the constitution alongside the 2027 general election, saying the push could lead to unnecessary tension in the country. This comes as President William Ruto’s personal aide, Farouk Kibet, supported the move to change the constitution, saying it will bring equity in development in the country, slamming those he says are holding on to the status quo.
