The High Court has heard final submissions in a virtual hearing of a petition challenging the legality of the Social Health Insurance Fund and the Social Health Authority, with Senator Okiya Omtatah and other petitioners arguing that the new health financing framework is unconstitutional. The government, however, has defended the reforms, saying they were lawfully enacted and are aimed at strengthening universal health care. Our Court reporter Letuaa Debra has more details.
