While others have not been found, some have come back with tales of horrific torture. The BBC has spoken to people affected by this worrying trend. The government of Tanzania denies it has anything to do with the disappearances. As the country heads towards elections in October, all eyes are on the East African nation and its treatment of those who disagree with the government.
