7 people killed in a suspected bandit attack in Kitui

Tension remains high at Kwa Kamari Township, seikuru area, in Kitui county, after suspected camel hearders killed 7 people. Kitui county commissioner Erustus Mbui has confirmed that the bodies bearing gunshot wounds and deep machete cuts were taken to the Kyuso Level Four Hospital mortuary, with one man who sustained gunshot injuries admitted at another local Hospital in critical condition. The motive of the attack is still unclear but local administrators suspect that it is part of a series of retaliatory attacks, after unknown people killed a herder in the region. A petrol station and a motorbike were also set ablaze during the Saturday attack, that forced residents to flee their homes.
