Bomet County government is on the spot for financial mismanagement, irregular payment of allowances to staff while at the same time underpaying early childhood development education teachers. The governor Prof Hillary Barchok was at pains to explain the numerous inaccuracies in financial reporting and malpractices in human resource management as flagged by the auditor general. Although the auditor said the inaccuracies do not necessarily point to loss of funds, the senators are concerned about the motive of county officials to submit incorrect information.
