Bonchari residents protest poor road conditions by planting bananas in Ekerore

Residents of Ekerore village in Bonchari, Kisii County, staged a protest after a newly rehabilitated road became impassable just weeks after completion. The angry locals blocked the Ekerore–Nyanchwa road in Bonchari, turning it into a symbolic farm, digging it up and planting banana suckers. They accused the contractor of shoddy work that has left them stranded, especially during the rainy season.
